I guess its a matter of what you are good at. My point is just that I am working on a game and tried to use paralax mapping and although I did get more "freedom" out of it, that left more freedom to make mistakes. I didn't want to put it in the wrong place, thanks for fixing my error. It'll also have the benefit of increased attention there, This is more of a topic about RPG Maker in general then a general discussion question, going to move it to General RM. If you have this kind of talent don't you think of this program as more of a hinderance than a help? Edited Maby endafy I think I have only seen one or two that were truly incredible.Īlso if you can do Parallax map creation, why do you use such a limited program as RPG Maker VX Ace when there are MUCH better creators out there that support multiple platforms for much less money. To me games made with Parallax maps feel clumsy and gawdy and loud 99% of the time. Not to mention you need all of these scripts to do it right and most of the time, there is something on a parallax map that creates odd pathways or areas where your character can get stuck and breaks the game if you accidentally save. Looking at some of these maps can give you a straight out migraine if you stare too long. You go from being too bland with people who use tilesets, over to being WAY too much going on, on a map. I really dislike all of these messy maps created with Parallax, sure I have seen some amazing ones, however, most look flat out ugly. Everything you can do in Parallax mapping I can do with chipsets. I personally prefer Tilesets, Parallax mapping is over abused imho.
